Keita Bates-Diop continues to rack up recognition in a breakout season. This time, it’s the Big Ten and Wooden Award’s turn.
Keita Bates-Diop Honored – Twice
Keita Bates-Diop had quite the day, and he didn’t even put on the Scarlet and Gray and head out to the hard-court to play a game.
Early in the day, Diop was again named the Big Ten Player of the Week. His double-double of 35 points and 13 rebounds against Illinois made the league take notice, and marks the fourth time he’s been honored with the award.
Not to be outdone, later in the day Diop was named to the Wooden Award late season top 20. It’s mind-boggling how the 6-7″, 235 lb. redshirt junior was left off the list mid-season with what he’s been able to accomplish, but better late than not.
Ohio State travels to No. 3 Purdue on Wednesday night with first place on the line.
