Ohio State Is a Top Four Seed in the NCAA’s Top Sixteen Projection

Well what do we have here? Similar to what the College Football Playoff Committee does, the NCAA also releases a projection of its championship model that actually resembles a tournament rather than an “plus-one”. The release is only the top sixteen teams, comprising the top four seeds in each region.

As many anticipated, the projected bracket does indeed have a Scarlet and Gray hue to it, as OSU appears as No. 4 seed in the East Region. Joining the Buckeyes in the East are No. 1 seed Villanova, followed by No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Texas Tech.

Ohio State is the No. 14 overall projected team in the field as of today, and among them as No. 4 seeds are Tennessee, Arizona and Oklahoma.

The complete list of top sixteen teams looks like this:

This is obviously a fluid situation and can change multiple times through the next few weeks, but it’s just more validation of what the Buckeyes have been able to do this year.

Purdue and Michigan State round out three teams from the Big Ten within the top sixteen.
