Hail To Ohio State? Michigan Uses Buckeye Success To Recruit Players

There isn’t a single stunt that seems to be below Jim Harbaugh and his staff. Why are we surprised then that Michigan is trying to capitalize on the hiring of former Ohio State offensive-line coach Ed Warinner with his success coaching former Buckeyes that have landed in the NFL?

Hail To Ohio State? Michigan Uses Buckeye Success To Recruit Players

Desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose.

That’s the only answer to the question of why in all things Maize and Blue the Wolverine football team would be advertising the success of former Ohio State offensive linemen on a publication to lure kids to Michigan.

Yes, Jim Harbaugh has done some “incredible” things in the past including sleeping over at a recruit’s house, taking the Big Ten to the South with his satellite camps, and even appearing in a rap video, but doesn’t this cross the line a bit if you are a Michigan fan?

Credit Matt Finkes, a former Ohio State defensive-end and current analyst finding this little gem.

Yes, Ed Warinner has had great success as an offensive-line coach, and most notably so at Ohio State, but as quick as you can say “he was short,” you would think that former Michigan players and current fans would have an issue with former OSU O-linemen Taylor Decker, Jack Mewhort, Corey Linsley, Reid Fragel and Andrew Norwell all appearing on Michigan recruiting material.

Funny I don’t see how many victories over Michigan are on that poster. Let me help things out a bit then — Warinner went 5 for 5 in The Game while with Ohio State.

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em as best you can I guess.

Right Jimmy?
