Former Ohio State great Katie Smith will be enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame during the 2018 ceremony.
Katie Smith Inducted Into The Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame
Life is good for former all-everything Ohio State guard Katie Smith. Not only is she the current head coach of the WNBA’s NY Liberty, but she just received word that she’ll be a part of the 2018 class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
For Smith, it’s the second Hall of Fame notice she’s received in just a matter of months. She’s already set to go into 2018 class of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
As a freshman, Smith was the key ingredient to the program’s only run to the NCAA title game during the 1992-93 season. She is also the all-time women’s professional basketball scoring leader at over 7,000 points for a career that had stops in the WNBA and now defunct ABL.
The ceremony for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is set to take place in September.
