Ohio State Basketball Adds Florida State Transfer Point Guard C.J. Walker

We always knew Ohio State was in the market for a transfer to help with the guard situation, and that came to fruition today as former Florida State point guard C. J. Walker announced his transfer to Ohio State via his Twitter account.

Walker, originally a four-star recruit out of Indianapolis in 2016, averaged 8.0 points and 2.4 assists over 23.2 minutes per game last year for the Seminoles, but had earlier announced his decision to transfer from the program.

Walker fits a big need — especially at the point guard position — but he’ll have to sit out one year because of NCAA undergraduate transfer rules.

The 6-1, 195 pounder will have two years of eligibility remaining and should be able to make an immediate impact when he’s available for the 2019-20 season.

It is still likely that Chris Holtmann and staff will continue to work the transfer pool to come up with a guard that can fill an immediate need in 2018-19.
