Potential Time Change For Ohio State Spring Game?

Nothing has happened yet, but fans should be on their toes in the event that the brass at Ohio State decides to move the game time of the annual LiFE Sports Spring Game. Bad weather is forecast to descend on the region, and there may be no choice.

Potential Time Change For Ohio State Spring Game?

UPDATE: Ohio State released information this morning that the game time is now set for 11:45 AM. That’s two hours earlier than the original time of 1:45 PM.

We may soon find out just how rabid the Ohio State fan base is. That’s because there is some adverse weather forecast for the Central Ohio region around the same time all the hoopla is set to take place for the annual LiFE Sports Spring Game.

On the annual Big Ten Coaches’ Spring Teleconference call, in response to other programs making the decision to cancel or move their spring events, Meyer was asked about the status of Saturday in Columbus.

His response was that it is that the situation is being monitored and when the time comes the appropriate communication will take place. Then, earlier today, a Tweet appeared on the OSU head coaches account warning of a potential change.

It’s not a done deal yet, but is sure sounds like the announcement could come at any time about the need to change the time of kickoff, and we already know that the lacrosse game that was scheduled for prior to the game has been moved to Friday.

This is also what an OSU spokesperson said in a release earlier this week leading up to the game:

Inclement Weather

The safety of our fans and visitors is our number one priority and The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is prepared to communicate with fans if and when inclement weather interferes with events at Ohio Stadium.

Please visit emergency.osu.edu or follow Ohio State’s Emergency Management Twitter or Facebook accounts for official safety and game day weather-related information. Fans can also listen to Flagship station 97.1 FM The Fan for up-to-date news and information.

While a no-bag policy has been implemented at Ohio Stadium, umbrellas and ponchos are allowed. To learn more about Ohio Stadium event policies and procedures, please visit: www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/gameday

We will continue to monitor this situation and have something as soon as we know here at Buckeye Wire.
