Kyle Snyder Wins AAU Sullivan Award

Former all-everything Ohio State heavyweight wrestler Kyle Snyder may be done with his Ohio State career, but he’s clearly not done adding to the collection of awards and recognition.

Snyder was presented with the 88th annual AAU James E. Sullivan Award Tuesday night, and it’s a pretty big deal. Since 1930, the award has been handed out to the most outstanding amateur athlete yearly in the United States.

It is perhaps the most prestigious amateur athlete award anyone can be given.

It is just the fourth time the award has been given to a wrestler, and second time in four years that it has been given to an athlete at Ohio State — Ezekiel Elliott taking home the honor after the 2014 season in which the Buckeyes won the national title.

Snyder is a three-time national heavyweight NCAA champion. He has also taken home an Olympic Gold in 2016, and is the two-time reigning World Champion.

You can bet this won’t be the last we see from Mr. Snyder.
