We now know the home and away Big Ten schedule for the Ohio State basketball team for the 2018-19 season.
Ohio State Basketball 2018 Big Ten Opponent Breakdown Unveiled
The Big Ten Conference released the league basketball schedule for the 2018-19 season today. While we await the complete schedule from Ohio State that includes the non-conference slate of games, we at least get a look into where the Buckeyes travel to, and who they host in what could be a very important sophomore season for head coach Chris Holtmann.
The most glaring observation is that Ohio State only plays Michigan once, and it’s in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines figure to be a front-runner for the league title, so it’s a bit of a blow to only get a game on the road against the Maize and Blue, especially considering the rivalry.
In addition to Michigan, the Buckeyes play Indiana and Nebraska just once at their place as well.
There is of course the reciprocal effect of playing certain teams only one time in Columbus. That is the case with Minnesota, Penn State and Wisconsin. Every other matchup is a home and away affair.
The 2018-19 season also marks the first year the Big Ten moves to a twenty game conference slate.
