Ohio State Men’s Volleyball Wins MIVA Tournament To Make NCAA’s

The Ohio State men’s volleyball team had already won the regular season Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association title, and yesterday it swept Loyola to take the tournament title for the third-straight year 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

Here’s the final point courtesy of Ohio State Men’s Volleyball’s Twitter account:

The win also means the Buckeyes get an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, where they will get a shot at defending their back-to-back national titles. The NCAA tournament pairings will be announced today (Sunday) and will pit seven teams in tournament play.

It also marked coach Pete Hanson’s 700th career victory that spans 33 years in Columbus. It is the 17th MIVA Tournament title for Ohio State.

Congratulations and good luck to the Buckeyes in what has been a dominant run here as of late.
