Ohio State Men’s Lacrosse Falls To Johns Hopkins In B1G Semifinal

The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team lost in the most heartbreaking of fashions in the Big Ten semifinal. The Buckeyes played Johns Hopkins nip and tuck all game and took a 5-4 lead in the 4th quarter but was unable to salt it away.

In a defensive struggle, Hopkins tied the score with 7:52 remaining on an extra man advantage to set up a white-knuckling final few minutes of the game. Both teams continued to battle and not give much ground until the Blue Jays got the final tally with just 11.6 seconds to go.

The 6-5 last second victory left the Ohio State players and coaches stunned and spent after a game that had both teams leaving it all out there.

For the Buckeyes, it was further evidence that the team had found itself a bit towards the end of the season after stumbling mid-way through, but it just wasn’t quite enough.

For OSU, the season is now over as it likely needed a Big Ten tournament title to get into the NCAA’s.
