Joe Burrow To Transfer From Ohio State

Timing is everything. We just wrote about all of this yesterday, and now we have our answer.

On the heels of graduating from Ohio State, quarterback Joe Burrow has decided to transfer from the program per an announcement from his Twitter account today.

Burrow had been embattled in a three-way quarterback competition with Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell, and had made it known that the possibility was there for him as a graduate transfer if it was not apparent that he’d be the guy under center in Columbus.

There hasn’t been much coming from the coaching staff as of late, but one can only assume that what they’ve been telling Joe after spring ball is not what he ultimately wanted to hear.

A destination for the kid out of Athens, Ohio is yet unknown, though we took a stab at some likely landing spots earlier. It’ll still be a few weeks before any decisions are made according to the announcement by Burrow.

Wherever he lands, he’ll be eligible to play immediately under the NCAA’s graduate transfer rules with two years of eligibility remaining.

We’ll have more for what this means for Ohio State, so stay with us at Buckeye Wire through the next day or so.
