Ohio State Basketball To Travel to Creighton As A Part Of The Gavitt Games In 2018

Ohio State’s non-conference schedule is beginning to come into focus. We already know that it will usher in the new season with a road contest against Cincinnati, and now it’s been announced that the Buckeyes will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on November 15 to take on Creighton University as a part of the Gavitt Games.

The Gavitt Games was started in 2015, and is an annual early season event between Big Ten and Big East schools. The event is named after the late Dave Gavitt — former athletic director at Providence College and the first Big East commissioner.

The event is scheduled to run through 2022 with each Big Ten team committed to play in the event four times, and each Big East school required to play six times. Ohio State’s only other appearance in the Gavitt Games came in 2016 when it beat Providence 72-67.

Since the game against Creighton will be played on a Big East campus, FS1 will have the telecast at a time to still be determined.
