Winning a championship is never easy, especially when having to punch your way through the loser’s bracket in a double-elimination setting.

That’s exactly what Ohio State is tasked with doing after dropping a decision in the first round against Purdue, and now it must win a bushel of games, each with elimination as a consequence.

So good job so far, as the Buckeyes bounced back to defeat Iowa 2-0 on the back of solid pitching by starter Ryan Felt, who went 6.0 innings, giving up just three hits while striking out six.

The bats didn’t exactly come alive, but didn’t need much with the strong starting and relief pitching that combined for a shutout.

Now the Buckeyes will get a chance to avenge its earlier loss, or play Darth Vader in the tournament when it faces the loser of Purdue/Michigan at 4:30 PM Friday in another elimination game.

The grind continues …
