What The ESPN FPI Predictor Says About Every Game On Ohio State’s 2018 Schedule

Sept. 1 vs. Oregon State

Record in the last five meetings: 0-2
Last year’s result: Did not play. The last meeting was in 1984, which Ohio State won 22-14
What the ESPN FPI Matchup Predictor Says: WIN Ohio State, 98.8% chance.
Projected Record To Date: 1-0
What It Means: Ohio State is expected to cruise in game one against a Beaver team that was awful last year. It should be an easy start to the season.

Sept. 8 vs. Rutgers

Record in the last five meetings: 4-0
Last year’s result: W, 56-0
What the ESPN FPI Matchup Predictor Says: WIN Ohio State, 96.4% chance.
Projected Record To Date: 2-0
What it means: Rutgers has been light years away from challenging Ohio State, and though it might not be as bad as the last two years, there’s no way the Scarlet Knights compete in this one either.

Sept. 15 vs. TCU at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX

Record in the last five meetings: 4-1
Last year’s result: Did not play. The last meeting was in 1973, which Ohio State won 37-3
What the ESPN FPI Matchup Predictor Says: WIN Ohio State, 82.9% chance.
Projected Record To Date: 3-0
What it means: Many national experts have picked TCU in this one. Don’t buy it. The Horned Frogs are replacing their starting quarterback and the game isn’t on TCU’s campus, but in a sentimental spot for the Buckeyes — AT&T Stadium. OSU should take care of business just as the ESPN FPI indicates, but it won’t be that easy.

Sept. 22 vs. Tulane

Record in the last five meetings: First meeting
Last year’s result: Umm, they didn’t play.
What the ESPN FPI Matchup Predictor Says: WIN Ohio State, 97.5% chance.
Projected Record To Date: 4-0
What it means: The Buckeyes will have to be careful not to look past this one getting ready for Penn State the week following, but the Green Wave have no business playing with the talent on OSU’s roster.
