It was a foregone conclusion that Ohio State would take place in another ACC/Big Ten Challenge, but was not made public is against who — at least until now.

According to John Rothstein, a source close to the situation has confirmed that the opponent will be non other than the Syracuse Orange, and it’ll happen at Value City Arena.

A game time has yet to be confirmed, but it will be the second straight season the Buckeyes will host a team in the challenge. They fell to Clemson 79-65 last year at home, and have not won a game in the annual event since 2013 when it took care of business at home vs. Maryland 76-60.

The addition to the schedule rounds out a fairly impressive non-conference slate that continues to take shape.

Already on the docket is an opening game on the road against Cincinnati, another game at Creighton as a part of the Gavitt Games, a neutral site game in Chicago against UCLA as a part of the CBS Sports Classic, and a home game against Bucknell.

We’ll continue to keep you up to speed as the non-conference slate for 2018-19 takes shape.
