Some stories don’t get enough play in the media. Nick Bosa’s letter to a fallen soldier’s family is on that needs more attention.
Ohio State Football: Nick Bosa Writes Letter To Fallen Hero’s Family
There are some things that transcend sports — even Ohio State football when you live in Columbus.
On that note comes a pretty cool story of a unprompted letter that defensive lineman Nick Bosa wrote to the family of a fallen soldier. The letter is posted above, but it is handwritten and one in which Bosa clearly felt moved to send along.
Here is the full transcript of the letter to the parents of Nicholas Casey, who was killed while serving our country:
To the family of Sgt. Nicholas Casey. My name is Nick Bosa and I am a junior football player at Ohio State. The fact that I am able to get up everyday without questioning my security makes me unbelievably proud to be an American, and thankful to have brave, heroic people like Nicholas watching over me. For Nicholas’ family members, I want to say that he will never be forgotten, and the courageous acts that he did will also be appreciated by not only me, but everyone here on the team. We will never forget, but also cherish the loving memory of Nicholas Casey.
This is a very kind and sentimental act from Bosa, and one that won’t get as much coverage as it should, but it speaks volumes about the kind of human being he is off the field.
