Ohio State Freshman Marcus Hooker Reportedly Arrested For DUI

It seems like a long time since an Ohio State football player has created some negative vibes off the field.

That came to an end yesterday, as per the New Castle News in Pennsylvania, freshman DB Marcus Hooker has been charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lane, careless driving, no rear lights, and purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.

The incident reportedly occurred on June 16 and has officially been classified as Hooker having a “high rate of alcohol” in his system. According to Pennsylvania law, that results in an upgraded misdemeanor for a first-time offense and means Hooker had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 to 0.159 in his system.

There is a potential for jail time, a license suspension, and treatment that will all have to be worked through the courts, with a preliminary arraignment scheduled for July 5.

There has been no comment on the matter from Ohio State to date.

Hooker is the younger brother of Indianapolis Cots safety Malik Hooker who had a breakout 2016 campaign. He had signed with the Buckeyes in December as a three-star prospect and had just landed on campus to begin his career when freshman reported early in June.
