Ohio State gained yet another verbal commitment today, this time from four-star linebacker Kane Patterson out of Nashville.
Boom! Four-Star Linebacker Kane Patterson Commits To Ohio State
Here we go again.
It’s been a Scarlet and Gray avalanche of football commitment news over the last week and half, and it’s not done yet.
Urban Meyer and staff received a verbal commitment from four-star linebacker Kane Patterson today via his Twitter page. Patterson is the fourth inside linebacker prospect in the country and a top 200 recruit overall according to 247Sports.
Patterson’s choices had been narrowed down to Alabama and Ohio State, but in the end he chose the Buckeyes and now becomes the fourteenth commitment to the 2019 class that continues to climb in the national rankings.
The 6-1, 225 lb. linebacker is similar to the new style of linebacker that’s light on his feet and agile enough to make plays in space — a much needed trait against today’s spread offenses. He also spent significant time at running back in high school, but is being targeted as a hybrid type playmaker on defense for the Buckeyes.
With the pledge, OSU now sits at No. 6 overall in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, just one spot behind Michigan who has five more recruits currently committed.
For the money, Ohio State trails only Alabama when it comes to average rating per player ,and will surely move up as it heads towards the finish line of this recruiting cycle.
The race continues …
