Braxton Miller took time out of his busy schedule to talk to Austin Ward of Lettermen Row recently. When asked about Dwayne Haskins, the former Buckeye QB set some high expectations.
Braxton Miller Says Dwayne Haskins Is An Eventual Heisman Winner For Ohio State
Urban Meyer has had himself some quarterbacks over his coaching career. Whether it be Alex Smith, Tim Tebow, Braxton Miller, Cardale Jones or J.T. Barrett, they all were great at what they did under center — albeit in different ways.
Now it’s time for a new quarterback to be inserted into the Urban Meyer QB pipeline, and if anyone knows how that plumbing works, it’s former human- highlight-reel quarterback turned wide-receiver Braxton Miller.
Not only does Miller know the offense and culture of an Urban Meyer team, he’s also spent a little time around Haskins catching passes and just being around the kid in general.
So maybe there’s nobody better then when it comes to what the sharpshooter from Potomac, Maryland can do as he gets ready to be the face of the Ohio State program for what many hope will be a few years.
Miller took some time recently to speak with Lettermen Row’s Austin Ward and had some high praise for Haskins. He went as far as mentioning a stiff-arming trophy in his future.
“I told him that one day he’s going to win the Heisman,” Miller said with a smile. “I’ve known Dwayne for two years now. Man, he’s dope, he’s nice.
Miller went on to praise his underrated running ability and work ethic, and especially how gifted he is as a passer — something that has been missing from the Ohio State offense really since Meyer arrived.
Now, just because a former Ohio State quarterback that played for Urban Meyer and bleeds Scarlet and Gray says something, that doesn’t make it true.
But when you start connecting all the dots of people that spend time around Haskins, there is a recurring theme of talent and workmanship that should have Buckeye fans and coaches excited.
