Former Ohio State Linebacker Mike Kudla Passes Away At Age 34
It’s a sad day in the Buckeye family.
Former Ohio State linebacker Mike Kudla has passed away at the all-too-young age of 34 according to an an announcement by his high school alma mater Highland in Medina, Ohio. Kulda passed unexpectedly yesterday, but no cause of death has been given.
Kulda was recruited to the Buckeyes by Jim Tressel in 2002 and was a member of the national title team that year. He was a starter and MVP of the defense in 2005 and went on to play an abbreviated NFL career before starting up his own business. He was an all-Big Ten performer from the defensive end spot his senior season.
His last game was perhaps his best. He tallied three sacks against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl at the end of the 2005 season and finished his career at Ohio State as No. 14 on the all-time sacks list.
Rest in peace Mike, and condolences to family and friends.
