Ohio State Announces Independent Committee To Investigate Alleged Domestic Abuse Cover Up

Ohio State released a statement today confirming the formation of an independent committee to investigate the allegations surrounding the cover up of domestic abuse by one of Meyer’s assistants.

The question had been lingering on whether the university would undergo the investigation itself, or whether it would bring in independent and external sources to investigate and formulate findings.

We know know that it will be the latter, and that’s a good move on Ohio State’s part. You can’t simply investigate something like this internally and be as objective and detailed as outside sources — at least in the court of public opinion.

It is worth noting however, that this likely moves the timeline out further rather than expedites it, but it’s most important to do this the right way, and get the right answers.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as more and more comes out on this.
