Breaking: Urban Meyer Releases Statement, Had Knowledge And Appropriately Reported Domestic Incident

We have breaking news. Urban Meyer is silent no more and released a message to Buckeye fans via his Twitter account.

The full text of the message is above, but in it, Meyer confirms that he did in fact know about the 2015 domestic violence incident by former assistant Zach Smith, and that he did appropriately report it to his superiors.

This is a development that we’ve been saying was a real possibility all along here at Buckeye Wire and it certainly brings up more questions that will need to be answered during the investigation by an independent committee.

Who made the call to lie at Big Ten Media Days? Why was Zach Smith not released from the program earlier? And is this revelation really true, and will it change the narrative that he should be relieved as head coach of the program?

We’ll should get the answers to those questions in due time, but for the moment, one can infer that Meyer thinks he will be back as head coach by his closing remarks … “I ask that you continue to support the incredible coaches and student athletes in our program, and I look forward to rejoining them soon.”
