Did Tom Herman Have A Role In Leaking Information To Brett McMurphy?

And we’re off and running again. As the scarlet and gray sands through the hourglass, so too are the days of our lives.

I swear I can’t go to the bathroom, see a movie, or do the dishes without more bizarre information coming out on the Ohio State saga.

Today, it gets even crazier as Jeff Snook — who already posted a story with both Courtney and Zach Smith’s moms contradiction of some of the claims that have made — went further down the rabbit hole.

According to Snook, sources close to the situation have alleged that Texas head coach Tom Herman was the one that leaked the information about the allegations against former Urban Meyer assistant Zach Smith to Brett Mcmurphy.

Now, before we go any further here, I want to implore everyone — just like I have with the Meyer allegations — to keep a level head and realize that this is not confirmed fact, and merely a citing of unnamed sources within the Ohio State program that apparently have knowledge of the situation.

That’s the problem with unnamed sources and the reliability factor, but it’s become the way these reports go these days, so take it for what it’s worth. And I guess we also have to scour Facebook posts to get some of the information.

The story goes on to say that Meyer and Herman had a falling out after the former Ohio State offensive coordinator left the program after the national- title-winning year of 2014 to take the head coaching position at Houston.

Then, as Meyer landed five-star wide receiver Garret Wilson out of the backyard of Texas this past spring, Herman allegedly wanted to retaliate and leaked the Zach Smith stuff to McMurphy.

Of course, since all of these sources are anonymous on both sides, we’ll never know what the truth is, but if there is anything to it, then it’s a shame since Urban Meyer gave Herman the quick catalyst to a rise in the coaching profession.

And in case you’re wondering, both Brett McMurphy and Tom Herman have come out to deny that he was the source, so who knows what’s true anymore.

Again though, this is why one-side reporting is dangerous. There’s a lot of stuff to still uncover here, and there’s even more that we’ll probably never know.
