The truth can hurt, in more ways than one.

According to a report by Jen Smola of the Columbus Dispatch, some of that hurt will come by the way of a ton of money budgeted for the independent investigation set out to determine what Urban Meyer knew about the allegations of domestic abuse by former assistant Zach Smith, and if he followed the proper protocols.

This budget has been set by the Ohio Attorney General’s office, and doesn’t necessarily mean that amount of money will be spent, just that it will not go beyond that.

The investigation is expected to wrap up within 14 days, which would put it at this coming Sunday, August 19. The vote to approve this budget is set for the day after that on Monday the 20.

Any approved bill would be paid by Ohio State directly.

We’ll continue to bring you noteworthy news on all that’s going on with the investigation.
