This Could Be One Of The Best Ohio State Teams Of All-Time With Little To Show For It

The 2018 version of YOUR Ohio State Buckeyes has a chance to be one of the best in recent memory, but that doesn’t mean it’ll go down in history as such because of what’s in front of it.

This Ohio State team we’re getting ready to witness has the potential to be a special one. It truly does. In fact, there are more five-star recruits on the 2018 team than any that Urban Meyer has had in Columbus.

Sure there were some key departures with J.T. Barrett, Sam Hubbard, and Denzel Ward, but as we’ve seen in recent years, there’s others with unlimited potential ready to fill the gap and become household stars in their own right.

So let’s start there.

Nick Bosa will be the anchor of a defensive line that might be the best in the country. Clemson’s is a beast, but Chase Young will splash on the scene this year, Dre’Mont Jones is apparently creating havoc in practice, and there are youngsters that will rotate in and keep bodies fresh. Where Clemson lacks depth, OSU has in full force.

There are some question marks in the secondary and at linebacker, but the coaching staff continues to exude confidence about where things stand there. With new defensive co-coordinator Alex Grinch in concert with Greg Schiano, the defense will be one that presses and attacks once again. We all know how that normally turns out in Columbus.
