Best All-Time Season

2010 – Although the Horned Frogs captured the 1935 and 1938 national championships, I’m going with the 2010 edition. Led by eventual NFL QB Andy Dalton and a smothering defense that only allowed 99.7 rushing yards per game, TCU finished the season with a perfect 13-0 record. That total includes a victory over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. It’s a shame that the College Football Playoff didn’t exist back then, because I firmly believe that the Frogs could have won it.

Best Player Of All-Time

LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, 2000 – With apologies to Heisman Trophy Award Winner Davey O’Brien — who has an award named after him — Tomlinson was the best player in TCU’s storied history. After all, he led the nation in rushing in back-to-back seasons, finishing the 2000 campaign with 2,158 yards. Even though opposing defenses knew he was going to get the ball, they couldn’t stop him. He rushed for at least 119 yards in every contest that season and run for over 200 yards in five games.
