It’s been a little while since we’ve had some recruiting news for Ohio State. Part of it is that it’s not a historically busy time for commits, but most of it likely has to do with all the Urban Meyer/Zach Smith investigation and news.

Well, we finally have some good news on the recruiting trail as four-star wide-receiver Jameson Williams announced his commitment on Twitter Friday to the class of 2019.

And yeah, we’ll forgive you if you lost sight of this news in the midst of all the whiteout conditions, but we’re here to bring you up to speed.

Williams is a speedster that many compare to Ted Ginn, Jr.

At 6-1, 169 lbs., Williams has room to grow into his body and is rated as the No. 130 overall recruit in the country, and No. 24 overall receiver for the 2019 class according to 247Sports.

Williams spurned offers from Alabama among many others and was one of Ohio State’s biggest remaining targets for the class.

With the commitment, Ohio State is still playing catch up to its own historical success, and rated as the eleventh best class in the country with still plenty of time to go, and many big targets still in play.
