Boy it didn’t look good for a while in Happy Valley. The whiteout crowd was jumping, the Penn State defense was throttling the Ohio State offense, and Trace McSorley was having himself a ballgame.

Despite it all, Ohio State found a way to take haymaker after haymaker and still pull it out in the end, in what can only be considered an instant classic 27-26

As usual, here’s five things we learned …

Trace McSorley Is A Baller

The stats coming into this game didn’t jump out at you, but McSorley is more than the numbers he throws up. In the biggest of games, he somehow finds a way to will his team to victory.

In this one, we saw both sides of what he can do. He stuffed the stat sheet by throwing for 286 yards and two touchdowns on 16 of 32 attempts, but he also ran the ball for 175 yards on 25 carries.

More than that, he also came up with big play after big play when his team needed it the most, he just couldn’t quite finish the deal at the end. Hats off to the kid though, and many Buckeye fans will be happy to see him graduate after this year.
