After gutting out a potentially season-defining win Saturday amidst all the whiteout business, Ohio State has a pair of stars recognized by the Big Ten.

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been singled out for the third time already this year as the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore engineered a fourth-quarter comeback that saw him finish with 270 yards passing and 2 TDs. Most importantly he rallied the team on a 94-yard go- ahead touchdown drive with the sands of the hourglass running out.

Haskins went 7 of 10 alone on that march. He struggled early to find the same production he saw in games one through four, but was able to come up big when his team needed him most.

Not to be forgotten about, defensive-end Chase Young was also named the conference’s Co-Defensive Player of the Week. In the absence of Nick Bosa due to injury, Young came up huge all game long, tallying 6 tackles total, 3.0 of which were tackles for a loss (including 2 sacks), two pass break-ups and two more quarterback hurries.

It was his tackle of Penn State running back Miles Sanders for a loss on fourth and five that sealed the game and sent Ohio State home with a nail-biting, gut-wrenching victory to keep all of its goals in play.

Young shared the weekly award with Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich. And in case you haven’t been keeping track, Ohio State has had a player recognized each and every week so far in the first five weeks of the 2018 season.
