Buckeye Battle Cry: What Team Is The Most Dangerous On Ohio State's Remaining Schedule?

It’s another Friday and you know what that means. It’s our weekly Buckeye Battle Cry roundtable where our staff weighs in on hot Buckeye topics. After getting by Penn State in whiteout conditions, we now ask what team poses the greatest threat to Ohio State the rest of the way.

Ohio State cleared what many viewed as its biggest hurdle on the 2018 schedule last week, and now (without putting the cart before the horse), many are looking at a clear path to some really big things.

But as we all know, things can jump up to bite you in college football, and going undefeated is extremely hard. With that being said, what team remaining on Ohio State’s schedule poses the greatest threat to knock off the Buckeyes?

Well, I’d like to go all James Franklin here and say whatever team Ohio State is playing this week is the biggest threat to put a ding in our shiny undefeated season. So, I guess I’m going with the Hoosiers…

Uhh, scratch that.

I’m actually going with Michigan here. Maybe it’s the nightmares of so many Buckeye teams of my youth being bested by inferior Wolverine squads, but the Michigan game always makes me nervous.

Michigan has an outstanding defense and most likely better than what the Bucks saw against Penn State. The Maize and Blue D-line and linebackers are on par with Ohio State. I could see them making life very difficult on Dwayne Haskins and company.

If both teams win out, this will be a top ten matchup just like the good ol’ days when the Big Ten Title came down to the last game of the season between the Bucks and That Team Up North. How many nights has Jim Harbaugh been dreaming of beating Ohio State to win a conference title?

Ultimately, I still believe the Buckeyes are the better team and come out on top, but those John Cooper years against the Wolverines have scared me for life.
