The question heading into this week was whether Ohio State would have a repeat of last year when it went to Iowa City and fell flatter than a lightning struck weather balloon.

Ohio State’s Defense Is Not Championship Caliber At This Time

Ohio State might win the division and Big Ten with being able to outscore all of its opponents, but it’s unlikely that it will make a loud noise in the College Football Playoff if it gets to that point without an improvement on the other side of the ball.

We saw the defense struggle again this week with big plays and in the passing game, and it’s a recurring theme. The secondary and linebacking unit might get better, but right now, those too areas of the defense are the weak links of this team.
