Dwayne Haskins Named Big Ten Offensive Player Of The Week ... Again

After falling just three yards short of an Ohio State single-game passing record, and throwing for six TDs against Indiana, Dwayne Haskins has been named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week again.

Maybe they should rename the offensive recognition award in the Big Ten after Dwayne Haskins.

That’s because for the fourth time this year, he’s been named the conference’s Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. As a reminder, we’re only six weeks into the college football season.

On Saturday, Haskins added to his already astronomical stats by throwing for 455 yards on 33 of 44 passing, and connected on six more touchdowns. He is on a furious pace to shatter Ohio State single-season passing records, and came within three-yards of breaking Art Schliter’s single-game total Saturday. He might yet do it at some point this season.

With the award, Haskins is just one offensive player of the week award from tying former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith for the most in a single season, and with six more regular games still to go, you have to like the kid’s chances of chasing that one down.

Ohio State and Mr. Haskins will get after it against Minnesota this Saturday at Noon.
