After winning another game, this time against Indiana, Ohio State now has the best chance to reach the College Football Playoff per the ESPN College Football Playoff Predictor.
Ohio State is now 6-0 and has surpassed Alabama as the team with the best chance of reaching the CFP according to the ESPN College Football Playoff Predictor.
After beating Indiana last week, Ohio State now has a 74% chance of getting into the semifinals compared to Alabama and Clemson’s 72%. We’re not entirely sure why a win over Indiana carries enough weight to have Ohio State surge ahead of the Crimson Tide, but nonetheless there it is.
Notre Dame rounds out the top four with a 62% chance of making the field. But don’t count your buckeyes before they fall off the tree Ohio State fans, the ESPN College Football Playoff Predictor still favors Alabama as the team that has the best chance at winning the national title at 27%, just ahead of OSU at 21%.
Of course this means absolutely nothing, and Ohio State still has plenty of miles to walk to get to finish line with games at Michigan State, at Purdue and at home against Michigan.
Ohio State begins the rest of that journey against Minnesota at home Saturday at Noon.
