Here we go again. Everyone’s favorite reporter Brett McMurphy dropped a bombshell today about a potentially toxic and racially charged incident by former assistant coach Zach Smith.

Basically, former Ohio State receiver Trevon Grimes — who transferred from the program to Florida back in December of 2017 — is alleging an incident at practice when Smith got in Grimes’ face and used a racial slur.

You can read the entire article yourself if so inclined at the above Tweet link, but Ohio State has come out and staunchly supports the program and Urban Meyer.

First, there was the statement from athletic director Gene Smith:

“The accusations made today by Brett McMurphy regarding our coach and the reasons for the transfer of Trevon Grimes are unequivocally false. Urban Meyer embraces diversity and would absolutely never support an environment of racism. It simply isn’t tolerated here. And as an African-American, football player and collegiate administrator, I personally can say that our coaches, student-athletes and support staff know there is no place for any such behavior within our programs, at The Ohio State University or anywhere.”

And, in addition to that, president Michael Drake released the following from his Twitter account:

We’ll have more on this story if it becomes available, but anyone that thought Brett McMurphy didn’t have an ax to grind with the OSU program might want to think again.
