Ohio State vs. Maryland Preview And Prediction - Week 12

Still not a thing of beauty, but the Buckeyes did get win number nine. The defense looked like it’s taking steps in the right direction and signs are pointing to some Tate Martell situational packages going forward.

Let’s stay positive here, our Buckeyes are 9-1 on the season and Saturday looked like a step in the right direction. Michigan State has one of the top defensive units in the country.

I wouldn’t call this effort a masterpiece by any measure. In fact, I’d say it was a pretty ugly win. But that’s kind of what the day felt like. It was a cold, miserable Big Ten football kind of day, the kind of day that a team just has to grind it out. And grind it out the Bucks did.

The Buckeye offense again got the ball moving on the ground which has to continue. Dwayne Haskins had his worst game of the season on terms of production, but again, I’d put some of that on the weather.

The defense held Sparty to only six points and kept them out of the end zone. Admittedly, Michigan State has been plagued by the injury bug, but this was a good sign for a defense that has struggled for most of the season.

A trip to Maryland awaits before the big one with TTUN. The Buckeyes need to stay focused on a sneaky Maryland team who’s already pulled one upset early in the year.
