According to odds on BetOnline, Michigan is opening this week as favored over Ohio State by 3.5 points. That’s in stark contrast from the beginning of the year when the Buckeyes were favored by about nine points.

That, however, was before Michigan went on a tear — winning ten straight games after the season opening loss to Notre Dame — and the Buckeyes showed some warts in several aspects of their game.

Even still, The Game has some very high stakes on the line. The Wolverines have already clinched a share of the Big Ten East title, but will only go to Indianapolis if they can beat Ohio State in the ‘Shoe on Saturday.

From there, both the Buckeyes and Wolverines have designs of going beyond that to the College Football Playoff — though Ohio State likely needs a little help.

Unless the line moves significantly, this will be the first time Michigan has been favored over Ohio State since 2011, and the first time in Columbus since 2004. Michigan lost that one, but won in 2011.
