Have you heard? Michigan has the nation’s No. 1 defense and has a whale of a team this year. In fact, why even play the game? The Wolverines are going to beat the Buckeyes going away.

Not so fast. Here’s three reasons Ohio State wins The Game.

Ohio State’s Offense

Seems like all the talk about offense is on the Michigan side heading into this one. Shea Patterson has no doubt made the Wolverine offense that’s looked like a cool breeze over the last couple of years much more dynamic. You have to respect both the threat through the air and on the ground, plus the sophomore from Toledo can make things happen when everything breaks down.

But it’s Ohio State that has the No. 2 offense in all of the country. Yeah, the running game has been inconsistent through the middle of the year, but it has started to find its sea legs the last couple of weeks. Add that to a passing attack that can get yards across the middle of the field — something the Wolverine D struggled with last week against Indiana — and this will be the stiffest challenge the Michigan defense has faced this year.
