Ohio State has had a fantastic start to the 2018-19 campaign, but it ran into its first adversity Wednesday when it dropped its first game to Syracuse as a part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Here’s three things we learned from the 72-62 defeat at the hands of the Orange.

Scoring Can Be An Issue For Ohio State

Sometimes a strength can also be a weakness. For Ohio State, its any man can be the leading scorer mentality is a great attribute to possess because it makes it difficult for other teams to gameplan against, but it has its downside.

When the Buckeyes need to score, I’m not sure they know exactly where to go yet. C.J. Jackson, KeyShawn Woods, Kaleb Wesson, or any one of a few players can get hot at anytime, but when nothing’s working, what we saw tonight is what can happen.

Ohio State just doesn’t have a Keita Bates-Diop or Jared Sullinger this year, and there will be other games when scoring becomes an exercise in futility.
