Best All-Time Season

1995 – Gary Barnett’s squad was one of the most pleasant surprises in college football in 1995. Fresh off of a 3-7-1 season, the Wildcats upset No. 9 Notre Dame in the season opener. They followed that up with a head scratching loss to Miami (OH) before reeling off nine straight wins en route to the Big Ten championship. While Northwestern didn’t win the Rose Bowl, it finished the year ranked eighth in the nation — its best showing in the modern era.

Best Player Of All-Time

Justin Jackson, RB, 2016 – While Jackson is clearly the best player, his best season is a tough call. After all, he rushed for 1,100+ yards in each of his four years, eclipsing the 1,300-yard barrier in each of his final three campaigns. Statistically speaking, the 2016 season was his best. He ran for a career-high 1,524 yards (5.1 ypc), while catching 35 passes for 219 yards.
