3 Reasons Ohio State Should Make The College Football Playoff

The thought coming into the Big Ten Championship Game was that Ohio State needed a lot of style points to move into the top four in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

A 45-24 win might not quite foot the bill, but it does give the Committee something to chew on overnight, with the announcement coming tomorrow. Here’s three reasons Ohio State should get in.

The Best Team In The Best Conference

If the Big Ten isn’t the best conference in college football, it’s a close second behind the SEC. And it’s been the best conference now for a good three or four year run.

However, of those years, if Ohio State is left out again, that’ll be three straight years the Big Ten champion has been left out of all the fun. In 2015, it was Penn State, last year it was the Buckeyes, and it’ll be a double-down this year if that’s the case.

If you have a team playing in the most rugged conference in the country, why shouldn’t that be looked at differently than teams that can get a week, or two, or three off during the year.

You can bet conference commissioner Jim Delany is making a phone call to through his weight around if Ohio State doesn’t get the nod.
