It is the end of an era at Ohio State.

Urban Meyer has decided to retire from coaching after the Rose Bowl per a release today.

Speculation had been swirling throughout this year that 2019 would be his last when when it was made known that Meyer had been struggling with a brain cyst that he had been dealing with for a large part of his career.

Meyer was recently seen dropping to a knee on the sidelines and showing signs of anguish and pain during games and press-conferences, and the decision was made that his health will just not allow him to go in Columbus.

Meyer is 82-9 in seven seasons at Ohio State with three Big Ten titles, and had won at least a share of the East Division every year. He led the Buckeyes to the 2014 national championship.

Ryan Day will be taking over as head coach after his successful run as the acting man in charge during Meyer’s three-game suspension earlier this year. There will be a scheduled press conference by Ohio State at 2PM today.

We’ll have more on the story as it develops.
