Urban Meyer’s last game on the Ohio State sideline will be on January 1st at the Rose Bowl.

Up until now, there have been plenty of fond memories, many iconic games and moments, and some close shaves that could span a complete coaching career for many other head men at other schools — ahem, Jim Harbaugh.

With so much to chose from in just seven years, you might think it would be tough to narrow this list down to a top five, but we’re game. Here’s our five most memorable wins under Urban Meyer.

No. 5 – 2012 vs. Michigan

Okay, so this probably isn’t up this high on a lot of people’s list, but for me, it was a tone setting type of game. Jim Tressel understood the rivalry with Michigan and it started the sea of change towards Ohio State owning space in Michigan’s head.

However, during the year in purgatory when Luke Fickell took an interim tag year into the 2011 season, the Buckeyes dropped The Game to Brady Hoke and Michigan. It felt like another crossroads in the rivalry.

But Meyer stepped in and put a stop to that. In a season when Ohio State had nowhere to go because of a postseason ban imposed by NCAA, Meyer got his team motivated with a 12-0 record, including a hard-fought victory over its arch rival 26-21.

It kept the momentum on Ohio State’s side, and began the fantastic run of being in the national title picture on a yearly basis.
