Buckeye Battle Cry: Will Dwayne Haskins Enter The NFL Draft?

Dwayne Haskins has had a historic season slinging the ball around for Ohio State. Is he a one-year wonder that will enter the NFL Draft after the Rose Bowl, or will he be in Columbus one more year?

The season Dwayne Haskins put together in 2018 will be one for the ages. Simply put, it’s hard to argue there’s been a more prolific passer ever to come through the Big Ten. In fact, he’s now projected to be a first-rounder should he decide to enter the NFL Draft.

So we asked our writers if Haskins is signed, sealed and delivered to the NFL, or if he’ll decide to come back and build upon the season he had this year? It’s our latest Buckeye Battle Cry.

Plain and simple… I believe Dwayne Haskins is headed to The League.  It’s not that he doesn’t love Ohio State, but this would clearly be the best option for a young man looking to fulfill his dreams.

Haskins has left the door open for a return after saying leaving Ohio State would be “extremely hard”. Or even his response to Mike Weber’s plans to turn pro after the Rose Bowl.

A cryptic “One more year…” followed by a crying emoji certainly makes it seem like a possibility that Haskins would return to lead the Bucks for another season.

But I’m not buying it. At the end of the day, Dwayne Haskins wants to play in the NFL and after a record breaking year in Columbus he has set himself up nicely to make that dream happen.

As much as I believe Haskins would love to come back for one more year, there is just too much to lose. It would be really difficult to improve or even duplicate then season he just had. And one more year gives the “experts” time to find holes in his game.

In this business, you have to cash in when your star is the brightest and that’s exactly what Dwayne Haskins will do. Thanks for the memories and good luck in the NFL!
