New Year, New Staff For Ryan Day And Ohio State?

Ohio State has the Rose Bowl to worry about, but after that, the focus will be on Ryan Day and the coaching staff he assembles in Columbus.

As Ryan Day takes the helm at the head coaching position for the Scarlet and Grey, Buckeye Nation awaits the staff shakeup that will take place this offseason.

According to recent reports, Day will maintain key assistants including strength coach Mickey Marotti, Defensive Line Coach Larry Johnson, and wide-receivers coach Brian Hartline.

But what about Defensive Coordinator Greg Schiano? Schiano is currently one of the highest paid assistants in the game. Will Day keep him on staff, or attempt a revival on the defensive side of the ball after a lackluster 2018 season?

Will Day continue to call the plays next year on offense, orr will he bring in someone else to focus on that aspect as he looks to be more of a game manager and CEO?

However the staff looks next year, Day will put together a great group. Ohio State always has a reputation of a respected staff, with great assistants who go on to be head coaches, or even assistants who have already been head coaches such as Greg Schiano and Kevin Wilson.

Day is a smart, young coach, and look for him to continue to bring in young talent to the coaching staff, as well as experienced veterans.
