Attorney for Justin Fields believes NCAA waiver request will be swift

The attorney handling Justin Fields’ waiver request to play immediately in 2019, rather than having to sit out a year because of NCAA transfer rules, has been quoted as believing the process will not take forever.

Tom Mars, talked to the Toledo Blade this week, and per Kyle Rowland, believes the process will not drag on like the Shea Patterson waiver did for Michigan, of which Mars successfully navigated.

“Unlike the situation with the Ole Miss transfers, the process of obtaining a waiver for Justin isn’t going to drag on months. This is a high priority for Coach Day, and it’s my top priority at the moment. I’m confident the process will move quickly and that the NCAA will be able to make a decision on OSU’s waiver request much sooner than most people might think.”

The prevailing thought surrounding those in the Fields camp is that the waiver request should be one that the NCAA will be sensitive to, but we’ll just have to see.

We know Tate Martell will also be watching the situation very closely, as will a slew of Buckeye fans.
